- Douglas Adams
- Science Fiction
I think that it’s fair to say that Sci-Fi is not a genre that interests me. When I was younger I read a couple of Star Wars books, after seeing Bladerunner I read Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick but apart from those nothing.
When I bought my Kindle I noticed that The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy was going cheap and thought that it would be fitting to read it on such a device. I’ve just finished reading The Fry Chronicles and Stephen writes about his friendship with Douglas Adams and their shared interest in Apple computers.
Thankfully it isn’t just a dry science fiction novel. You can tell that it’s humour is British through and through, laced with an essence of Python, Monty that is, not the reptile or the programming language. I was amazed at how many memes in the book I had heard of but had not known where they originated until now.
