The agonising wait for a Wii...

Wii Remote & NunchuckWii Remote & Nunchuck

I pre-ordered my Wii from Amazon.co.uk during the 7 minute window of opportunity on November 21st. Game had already sent me an e-mail saying that I wouldn’t be one of the first to receive the console on release day because I was late with the pre-order. When I received confirmation from Amazon I cancelled the Game one and waited. I had already ordered a Wiimote, Nunchuck, Zelda and Red Steel from Amazon.

Thinking that Amazon would get their console allocation on the Thursday, the day before release, they should be able to have them boxed and ready and hopefully sent out that evening, ready for delivery on the Friday. Of course Amazon couldn’t guarantee that. The other order was dispatched on the Friday and I received the package at about 8:30am on Saturday morning. I had been able to track it’s progress through the tracking page. Great, Wiimote, Nunchuck, Zelda and Red Steel… but no console. I thought that if it was dispatched on the Saturday I might receive it on the Monday, that is if Parcel Force pickup from Amazon on Saturdays. The console was dispatched at 9:30am on Saturday by Amazon. So every hour or so I checked the tracking information. There was always no record on Amazon and no record on the Parcel Force web-site. It must be somewhere. All yesterday nothing. So I checked with Parcel Force over the phone and they had no record of the package being picked up as it hadn’t entered their system. They said check with Amazon. Amazon’s web page says only to contact them 3 days after the estimated dispatch day, next Friday.

So I’m sat here with the games and the remote, all still in their little boxes, waiting for the Wii.
