I went to see the Sensation exhibition at London’s Royal Academy, many moons ago, and have only recently bought the book of the event. The actual exhibition had a great effect on me as I’ve constantly tried to find a similar collection of works. All to no avail. Even going to Tate Modern during every trip to the capital hasn’t given me the same feeling of wonder, disgust and discovery.
One of the Sensation pieces that really left its mark was Dead Dad by Ron Mueck and I was pleased to read that he has an exhibition at the Royal Scottish Academy Building in Edinburgh. That has to be worth a trip north of the border.
