Finally I have a 2Mb broadband connection.

I checked my PIPEX control at the weekend and saw that, finally, they were allowing existing customers the chance to upgrade their broadband packages. After selecting the appropriate details on-line I received a confirmation e-mail yesterday concerning the re-grade. Another e-mail was waiting for me today informing me that the upgrade was complete. One thing, that was spotted by my eagle eyed colleague at work, was that they are now charging an extra £1 if you pay by credit card. A swift telephone call to PIPEX today and I switched payments to direct debit. I would much rather save the £12 per year that have the extra Nectar points.

While this was all happening I checked the PIPEX forums at ADSLGuide. Some people were complaining that PIPEX didn’t inform, or allow, existing customers the opportunity of switching sooner. The rest of them had already switched and were complaining that their download speed was fluctuating when using the Speed Test. That’s the problem reading forums of any kind, they are usually full of people bitching and moaning. The satisfied customers are too busy just using the product.

An unscheduled reboot of my router and I was in business. Of course they still haven’t replied to the e-mail that I sent on the 12th but I knew that they wouldn’t let me down.
