Ian ‘Lemmy’ Kilminster is 59 years old and has been making eardrums bleed in his band Motorhead for more than 30 years. Lemmy is the very epitome of rock and roll. He is reported to drink a bottle of Jack Daniels a day… whether he needs to or not. This, along with a splash of full fat Coke, appears to be the only sustenance that he needs. Back in the eighties he was always photographed holding a can of Special Brew. In fact I have never seen any documentary evidence that he consumes solid food at all.

Lemmy used to roadie for Jimi Hendrix, back in the day, and he has seen fashions and fads come and go.

I recently learnt that Lemmy had not been in the best of health. It seemed that his age and lifestyle were catching up with him. Thankfully this weeks Kerrang! magazine reported that Lemmy’s manager had issued an official statement saying: “Lemmy’s started making an effort by adding extra ice-cubes to his Jack and coke”.

I believe that his face should be on this countries stamps and coins (that’s not next to, but instead of, the Queen’s) as a fine example of British determination.
