The Complete Guide to Digital Graphic Design

I bought this book thinking that it would give me some ideas for web designs for this site… it hasn’t.

The first half of the book deals with Design Basics and Surface Design which I found interesting having not read anything about this kind if design previously. The last half is the Design For Screen and Type/Colour/Image sections which I already had some knowledge about from reading web design books and web sites. With continuous advances in computer operating systems these parts did seem a little old fashioned with all the screen shots being done with Mac OS 9.

I may just flick through it now and again for inspiration. Then again there are lots of web sites for inspiration and they come a lot cheaper than this book.
